Why Eric?
As a Financial Advisor and Tax Executive with more than 30 years of experience, a small business owner, a father of Stamford Public School graduates, and a commitment to public service, I will continue to bring valuable perspective and leadership to the Board of Representatives. Nothing less than transparent, open government will best serve the people of Stamford and the 13th District.
Constituent connections are the cornerstone of public service, and I will continue to be easily accessible and always responsive. If you have an issue, I’m here for you. Being engaged with the people whom you serve is the only way to truly serve.
As a product of Stamford public schools and parent of two Westhill graduates, I am keenly aware of the need to consistently monitor and maintain the quality of public education in Stamford. Top tier schools are not just the foundation of our children's future, they are a key element of the value of our homes, property, and quality of life.
Like Amiel, I voted against the 2023 Charter revision because there were many elements rolled into the single omnibus question that I could not support. In our District, the revision was defeated by 30 points, and citywide by 14 points. I will continue, as always, to fight for what I believe is best for us in District 13 and the City while standing against initiatives that will negatively impact all of us.
I also agree with Amiel that the Planning Board needs to modify the currently proposed Comprehensive Plan, and urge them to do so. Neighborhoods like Hubbard Heights must be protected from changes that would jeopardize the very nature of what put them on the National Register of Historic Places.
I have a solid track record of highly effective leadership with tangible results, and strive to do what I do best for all of my neighbors in the 13th and the entire City.
Stamford Is My Home, My Heart
I grew up here, went to school here, and have lived on High Ridge, in Stillmeadow, Glenbrook, and Saw Mill. Stamford is my home, full of lifelong friendships firmly rooted here. It was important to me and my wife that we raise our family here.
I am fond of the idea that “Stamford is as big or as small a town as you want it to be” because it offers so many kinds of neighborhood experiences, and no matter how we grow as a city, you always run into people you know… just like a small town.
My wife Michele and I live in the Saw Mill neighborhood on Dundee Road where we raised our two children, Cameron (24) & Callie (20), with our cat, Jasper, and 85 lb. labradoodle, Jackson.
Amiel Goldberg
I am excited to bring my financial experience, community service, and passion to work for the greater good to you, my neighbors.
Eric & I will listen, be here when you need us, and will fight for you. That’s what the job is about.
Public service is a noble calling, and I am honored to have the opportunity to represent you.

Stamford Resident since 2007
Why Amiel?
I grew up in Columbia, SC - the state capital and home of the University of South Carolina, where I earned my undergraduate degree. Later, while living in Stamford, I completed my master’s at UConn. My professional journey began in banking, and a series of corporate relocations took me from Columbia to Charlotte, Denver, Seattle, and, finally, Stamford in 2007. Each move deepened my appreciation for different communities and their approaches to growth and change.
Today, I work as a consultant in financial risk management and devote more time to my extended family in the Carolinas, which has provided fresh perspectives on how communities manage expansion and transformation.
Why I’m Running
I’m a lifelong Democrat: moderate and cautious on fiscal matters, thoughtful and inclusive on social issues. I value and respect your perspective, and I ask for the same consideration in return.
Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on Stamford’s Board of Representatives—an experience that has brought both challenges and opportunities for our city. A commitment to constituent service and collaborative problem-solving has defined my tenure. For example, I successfully worked to improve local infrastructure, including paving roads in District 13, securing additional grant funding for non-profit community groups, serving on the Stamford Water Pollution Control Authority Board, and ensuring that our blight ordinances are enforced in our neighborhood. I’ve worked closely with residents who reached out for help navigating city services, whether it involved getting potholes filled, securing answers to difficult questions, or advocating for more traffic enforcement near schools. These experiences have shown me that responsive leadership makes a tangible difference in our neighborhoods.
In addition, serving on the Board has taught me the importance of listening to every side of an issue before forming an opinion. As you are aware, the past four years have been marked by significant political turbulence, both locally and nationally. I am committed to listening to all sides of an argument before taking a stance. For example, while there were parts of the Charter Revision that I could have supported, due to the overall package of changes being presented, I had to oppose it. Additionally, the 2035 comprehensive plan has many laudable goals, but as currently presented, I do not think it adequately addresses the concerns I have heard from my constituents. I’m hopeful the Planning Board will take note of the voices raising concerns and slow down the process to listen and adjust to what our residents are saying.
If reelected, my priorities for Stamford’s future are clear. I plan to focus on expanding affordable housing options, improving public transportation, and fostering stronger partnerships between local businesses and schools to drive economic growth and educational excellence. I’ll advocate for sustainable development strategies that preserve Stamford’s character and champion initiatives that support our seniors, youth, and working families. My goal is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to opportunity and a vibrant quality of life.
I bring over 34 years of professional experience in financial and risk management, along with extensive volunteer work with my children’s schools, community organizations, and my house of worship. My commitment to Stamford is deeply personal—from volunteering at my children’s schools to serving on non-profit boards, I’ve seen firsthand how coming together strengthens our city.
For me, unity—not division—is essential. I approach political problems as opportunities to shape Stamford into a place of joy and shared accomplishment. I’m determined to bring people together in search of fair and equitable solutions to our common challenges. This is our home, and I hope to continue serving you with sound judgment, selfless service, and an unwavering dedication to Stamford’s future.
